FAQs

1) What are current property prices in Bulgaria?

Property prices in Bulgaria are increasing all the time. Property still remains excellent value for the moment. A basic rural cottage can be purchased for as little as £5000, but expect to pay significantly more for a property in one of the beach resorts or cities. Check the Property section to get an idea of what you can get for your money.

2) Can foreign nationals own property in Bulgaria?

Yes foreign nationals can own property in Bulgaria.

3) Can foreign nationals own land in Bulgaria?

Foreign nationals arent able to own land in Bulgaria directly - this law is liable to change in the next few years. Meantime this obstacle can be overcome by incorporating a business in Bulgaria and owning the land as an asset of the business.

4) Why are the property prices in Euros?

Property in Bulgaria tends to be sold in Euro's rather than the local currency Leva.

5) Why dont you have more properties advertised on your site?

There is a high overhead in time and effort in maintaining a database of a large number of properties. Property sells quickly and most of our customers arent able to go and view the properties immediately, so we prefer to give a few examples on the site, and then search for properties which meet customers requirements on an individual basis.

6) Why are your rates lower than the other agencies?

We are dedicated to offering a no frills but full service to all our clients at a very low cost - see our mission statement for more details.

7) Is there really no commsission on your Land Star Buy?

Yes this is a genuine offer, all the buyer will need to pay to Real Estate Bulgaria is for a viewing trip and legal expenses for the purchase.

8) Why do some agencies such as yourself charge for viewing trips and some don’t??

There are obviously expenses incurred by Agencies such as Real Estate Bulgaria when providing viewing trips e.g. Petrol, our representatives time and travelling expenses etc. Real Estate Bulgaria aim to give our clients a very low cost service, and we therefore need to keep our expenses to a minimum. We don’t wish to increase our other fees to cover viewing trip expenses as this would effectively mean clients who chose to buy would paid for the viewing trip expenses of those who don’t. We think the fairest way is to charge a small amount to everyone who goes on a viewing trip with us. If they choose to buy with Real Estate Bulgaria the first £50 (one standard days viewing trip is deducted from the Agents Fee they are charged) see Viewing Trip for more details. Warning – If you do go a viewing trip with an Agency who do not charge for viewing trips then it is likely either you will be charged inflated fees when purchasing a property and/or you will get the ‘hard sell’ as the agencies need to have a high selling ratio to cover the extra expenses.
