Resorts
Golden Sands is the biggest and most popular resort on the North Black Sea Coast.
It boast a large number of restaurants, bars, and discos and attracts visitors across a wide age spectrum, most of whom are British, Irish or German.
Golden Sands has a great beach – long and with fine sand and good shallow swimming water.
There are mini trains, which can be a nice way to see the whole resort when it is too hot to do a lot of walking.
The resort is built on a hill. Those hotels which aren’t right on the sea front are away from the bustle of the resort, and interspersed between groups of trees, however remember if you stay in one of these you have an uphill climb every time you return to your hotel.
The prices for food and drink in Golden Sands are probably the highest of any of the Black Sea resorts, but still great value for the British tourist.
One thing to be aware of is that there are large numbers of prostitutes who work in Golden Sands and they can be quite difficult to shake off for any man walking alone in Golden Sands in the evening. The main gathering spot for the prostitutes tends to be around ‘Bonkers’ bar/disco. They also frequent discos so guys don’t necessarily think you have ‘pulled’ if some gorgeous Bulgarian girl starts dancing with you. Some of the cheaper hotels allow prostitutes to use their rooms, so probably these hotels are not the best accommodation for families with young children.
