You are sure to be approached at some point during your time during your stay in Bulgaria, by someone promising you an unbeatable rate and wishing to exchange foreign currency with you.

Please do not ever change money with these people as you will almost inevitably be cheated, either by them giving you counterfeit or out of date notes.

This is organised crime!
